IN.E.VY.P.

The Institute of Research Institute of Byzantine Culture (IN.E.VY.P.) is a Research University Institute based in Mystras (Lakonia, Greece) and is affiliated with the University of the Peloponnese.

The Institute is a Private Law Legal Entity, has financial and administrative autonomy, and is supervised by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

IN.E.VY.P. has been involved in various research programs and it organizes international conferences. Moreover, it publishes proceedings of these conferences and noteworthy works, which are available here. EN.E.VY.P. also hosts in its facilities postgraduate study programs of the University of Peloponnese.

Mission

• • Research in the fields of Byzantine Archaeology and Art, Byzantine History, Byzantine Philology and Philosophy, Sciences and Law during the Byzantine period, especially in the region of Lakonia and more generally in the Peloponnese
  • Promotion of research at an international level and cooperation with related institutions in Greece and abroad
  • Training of postgraduate students of the Departments of Philology and History, Archaeology, and Cultural Heritage Management of the University of the Peloponnese and other similar Departments of Greek and foreign universities, and partially or entirely conduction of Ph.D. thesis of doctoral candidates
  • Study of the popular tradition during the Byzantine and post-Byzantine period
